Spring = Sandals = Pedicures!

In preparation for Easter Sunday Lexi and I went and got pedicures. The women at the salon thought Lexi was the cutest thing ever and could not believe she sat long enough to have her toes and her fingers done. I was even surprised how good she was. Lexi couldn't wait to get home and show her Dad her "sparkly fingers".

The OC Great Park

There is a huge park in Irvine with a hot air balloon, animals, a train - all kinds of neat stuff for kids. Jeff and Lexi did the hot air balloon ride and Lexi loved it! This picture took me by surprise because Lexi looks like a little girl now, not a baby. Even as I type it tears come to my eyes! Lexi is the greatest joy of our life. God didn't send her for us to care for, he sent her to care for us.

"Mom, guess what?"

I have fallen behind on my blog. Mostly because Jeff usually takes tons of pictures and I use them for my blog. But Jeff has been crazy busy with work so I don't have new pictures to work with. Lexi gets smarter and smarter everyday. Lately she has been saying... "Mom, guess what? I want to go to the beach, then Disneyland, and I want to go to Grandma and Grandpa's" . Well, how do you say "no" to that. So the beach on a Saturday, plan a day off to go to Disneyland, and we are going to AZ in April for my Dad's 60th birthday. Who rules the world?..... our children!

Thanksgiving and COUSINS!

We went to Arizona for Thanksgiving. Lexi had so much fun playing with her cousins. Grandpa Checketts set up the electric train and the kids had a blast with it. Of course Grandma spent lots of time in the toy room playing with the grandkids. We love it at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Many of you know that the lady that cares for Lexi is Lila. Well Lila has the most beautiful rose bushes in her front yard leading up to the front door. When Lexi started walking she would stop every time a new rose was in bloom and excitedly say "Look Mom! a flower!" she would stop dead in her tracks and smell the rose and adore it. At first my instinct was to say... "Hurry Lexi, Mom's late" and I stopped myself... No Jen... STOP, SMELL, ADORE. Look at what Lexi is teaching you. So now every morning, no matter how hurried I feel, I stop with Lexi and smell the roses.

Lexi hits Laguna Beach

We went to Laguna today, Lexi finally got over the dirty sand and water phobia, it was a lot of fun. I think she liked the blue ice cream afterward the most (even though she didn't eat much).

Happy Halloween

Trunk or Treat!

Lexi had lots of fun at the ward Trunk or Treat. She was really into it this year, she had fun playing with the kids and getting lots of candy.

Pumpkin Carving

We had fun carving Lexi's first pumpkin today although I think she found the praying mantis that we caught earlier in the day far more interesting. She is practicing her scare though and should be all ready for the 31st.

Favorite Time of the Year

Fall has to be the best time of the year. The heat breaks, the wind changes, the air feels crisp and the leaves change color. Maybe it's because school started in fall for so many years of my life, I don't know what it is, but I LOVE IT. We had another change in our house, we took down the crib and set up Lexi's "big girl bed". I don't like it. I hate that she is getting big. We are having a hard time getting her to stay in bed once we take her in at 8:00, but I'm sure it will get easier. Stay tuned for progress reports.

When it Rains it Pours

I've been feeling "off" lately. Mya, my friend at work, says my "chi" is off and I have to agree with her. I got sunburned pretty badly at the Orange County Fair - bad enough that I was in pain for a few days. Then Jeff and I got really sick. We both got a horrible head cold. I'm not talking about the sniffles... we were flat on our backs for days. Then, the other night I was trying to make myself some oatmeal and poured boiling water all over my index finger. When it first happened I thought... "that hurts... I should put it under some cool water" needless to say, that didn't help much. By the time I got to the bedroom to tell Jeff what happened I was crying so hard that I couldn't get the words out. Jeff said it's all kind of funny and I should blog about it... I'm not finding the humor in it right now, maybe I will once the blister that used to be my index finger heals.

The OC Fair

Alexis had a great time at the fair today, she got to ride a donkey for the first time (almost made it through the whole ride) won a stuffed bear AND a stuffed turtle. She had a great time with her friend Addison as well. A little sun burned and tired but loved it!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Lexi turned two on the Fourth of July. Jen's family was in town, making it special because everyone was able to come and watch the little critter start her OCD recovery process (yea, she hates messes but look...)

Our little princess was able to clean up and get back to what she does best...

Thanks for coming everyone, Lexi is still talking about "Uncle Matt at school", Trent, Ryan Ashley and all of her new presents.

Wall-e

Alexis and I went to see Wall-E this weekend.
She made it through the first 20 minutes and then felt it was far more important to run her butt across every light on all of the stairs above and below us.She did enjoy seeing Wall-E and Eve-A, his girlfriend, and we got a couple of good little pictures with her after the show (she was too afraid of them before the show).

Hancock!

Let me divert from Lexi for a brief sidenote. Very rarely do I go to movies at the theater, let alone await their arrival with great anticipation. This 4th of July I must admit, there is one movie that I can't wait to see-- HANCOCK. Yes, the story line is a bit far fetched. But ladies, (even the gentlemen) are you with me...Will Smith + Jason Bateman = Great Entertainment.

Daddy's Little Girl

I have to add... Alexis is the apple of Jeff's eye. He absolutely adores her and SMOTHERS her with hugs and kisses and praise. He is also very involved in her wardrobe!? When I was buying that dress for Alexis, Jeff said "make sure you get that head band that matches the dress, that will look cute". Obviously, I got the head band.

Fathers Day 2008

Lexi gave Dad some clothes (i know, boring) for Father's Day. We made breakfast and then Mom and Alexis went to church. Dad has been sick, probably run down from his job and finishing up his MBA so he stayed home. Needless to say, not a very eventful Father's Day. We did get some good pictures of Lexi before chruch though.
